Software Development Engineer

July 2020 - December 2021

INDmoney (FINTECH - STARTUP)

Funded by Tiger Global, Steadview Capital and Dragoneer Investment

  • Spearheaded the construction and implementation of a Kafka based data streaming service which enables real-time data processing and alerts to users. Served real-time notifications to over 200 thousand users.
  • Developed and automated actionable financial advisories using Java, Kafka, and Spring Boot application to enable users to save and earn money.
  • Enhanced and revamped existing systems to support data streaming between services to overhaul the current system and make it more reliable and reduce latency.
  • Implemented technologies like DynamoDB, SQS, Lambdas and Redshift into the current architecture stack to enhance and revamp existing system.
  • Built a custom Kafka connector to stream data from Debizium to SQS. This helped the company set-up automated communication based on Database changes and decoupled communications from backed applications completely.
  • Constructed an internal system to send automated and scheduled communications to users with an easy to use interface which reduced the time for sending 1 communication from 5-6 hours down to 10mins. This helped the company grow 5x in its DAU (Daily Average Users) numbers.
  • Led and mentored a team of 3 software engineers and followed Agile programming ideology to push out new cutting edge products at a fast pace utilized for both internal company functions and user facing products.

Software Research Intern

Adobe Systems, Inc

  • Co-led a research project on explaining the behavior of black box machine learning models through human interpretable rules.
  • Refined the interpretability using Machine Learning algorithm like Lime, Genetic Algorithm, a post-processing algorithm and used different Ablation studies to strengthen the approach
  • Drafted and designed Uncertainty Analysis to analyze the quality of rules produced.
  • Wrote 2 research papers submitted to A-star conferences in the field of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence along with my supervisors

Infinite Analytics

  • Initiated and designed projects to enable automated Facebook marketing using Facebook marketing API and Flask framework in python to make UI and C++ script to read and analyze trends in data to choose target audience.
  • Built a UI based crawlers to extract product catalogs from clients’ website using Scrapy and crawling Spiders. This helped consolidate data from multiple data source to a single easy to read data stream.
  • Improved data representation with map graphs and geographic data points using google maps API and Python scrips.
